Founded in 1834 by Judge John Reed, The Dickinson School of Law is the oldest law school inPennsylvaniaand the fifth oldest in the nation. In 2000, theLawSchoolmerged withPennState, one of the n98lWry’s premier research universities. Penn State Law operates as a unified two-location operation with facilities in bothUniversity Park,PennsylvaniaandCarlisle,Pennsylvania. It is home to over 600 law students, most of whom are earning the degrees of Juris Doctor (J.D.) or Master of Laws (LLM). Penn State Dickinson has a faculty and staff of over 100. Penn State Law’s research centers engage faculty, students, and practitioners in the study of law and policy. Centers include Agricultural Law Resource and Reference Center, Center for Government Law and Public Policy Studies, Center for the Study of Mergers and Acquisitions, Center on Children and the Law, Center for Public Interest Law and Advocacy, Institute of Arbitration Law and Practice, and Institute for Sports Law, Policy, and Research.
